I researched the ones you can buy, and most reviews said they broke easily.
For $20 in parts, I figured I'd give it a try.

Items were acquired from local Ace Hardware store.

She already rings a hanging bell to go out, so maybe this will be easy for her to learn as well.

Have a good day

I bought my boy one of those hotel service bells when he was a pup to let me know when he needed to go outside. Well, the little s*** figured that out pretty quickly and before I knew it, he was smashing that damn thing constantly. I promptly removed that noise maker and he learned to squeak when it was time to go out.

Hell of an Idea there!
Id love to do that but Blue is so good, he just sits there at the door waiting patiently lol.
I think he thinks he will get in trouble if he does something else🤣
But i love the idea

Our dog and cat just use the doggie door.
Some of our winter time temps, last years example, are to cold for the standard doggy doors.

Researched the extreme cold weather dog doors and they are not cheap.
Because she is an indoor dog, at those temps, we wanted to know when she wants in.
With the wife upstairs watching TV, and me downstairs in my office. Sometimes we do not hear her bark to want inside. The door bell solves the problem.
.
Yesterday afternoon, I showed her 3 or 4 times how to do it, and the wife opened the door and gave her a treat each time. Last night the door bell rang, and just kept ringing constantly. I thought "Crap, the door bell stuck."
Nope, I open the door and she is sitting there, just holding it down.
haha, Smartass dog, she did not want in. She wanted a treat. WTF!!!
hahahaha!!!!!
Gotta love our furry companions. 👍

Have a good day
