Well after being in Lake Lure the past 2 days I've figured out some stuff. Stopped at the Lake Lure Baptist Church this morning and met a guy that was loading up supplies from the church into his truck. He was heading further up into the mountains above Chimney Rock to help people in need up there. Lake Lure actually doesn't look that bad. They have plenty of supplies and just down Hwy 9 there are stores with gas and fuel. The parks and rec office actually told me they had too many donations and were not taking anymore. The guy at the church told me that further up into the mountains is where it gets worse. He told me about a place just up the road from the church that was accepting donations. I rode up there and checked it out at the end of the work day. Looks like an old farm store to me. Just regular people that are helping out. They have lots of items already but said they will take anything that people are willing to donate. They are then sending those items further up into the mountains where they are needed most. Of course they are giving any local people whatever they need also. They have a forklift at their place so my plan is to bring up some pallets of water and other items Thursday morning. I gave the guy at the church this mormimg 2 new chainsaws with extra chains and 6 gallons of pre mixed gas. Later that evening when I went to the other place I actually saw that same guy there helping to load items into someone's car. If anyone is interested in bringing items up there just ask and I can give directions. Sounds like they are still in need of donations. And definitely no FEMA involved at that place.

Damn, I hate I just found this, still need money, got a 2500 I can tow with, gladiator I can get into s***ty places.

I found a place that needs people to transport items further up into the mountains where access may be more difficult. I can give you info if you are interested
