I saw a utube video of an owner review of his P500. What caught my attention was that he had been running Monroe Max-Air MA785 shocks from a 1968 corvette on his P500. He had been using the shocks on the front only and said it made an amazing improvement. The shock was mounted with no spring. Has anyone heard of this or does anyone have any thoughts. My main concern is what happens if there is an air pressure failure, how much does the shock collapse.

Yup old mod on here.
There have been a fair amount of threads on this being done since way back in 18’ at least maybe further. I remember reading them kind of a poor mans Walker Evan's but not quite. I still held on to my old P5 at the time. Anywho…a quick search up top unveils them easily, here is one. I didnt read through it but I copied for you.

Frank when I started reading this post I was afraid that you wanted to add them for load carrying capacity because you didn’t think you could carry enough cargo 😂

Nope, I will build a car top carrier for additional stuff ... I have heard it is best to carry the weight as high as possible!
