Actual work time I’m not sure. He said once he got the angles and cuts figured out it would go pretty quickly. I’m sure he has a plan moving forward as he noted all the angles and lengths.
Out of curiosity did you happen to ask him about adding a tire carrier?

Now I’m paranoid!
If it does hold (probably will) your rear tires may be off the ground, hope the front pulls hard enough to un-catch it from rock ledge. I've seen this happed to a couple of Pioneer 1000's with those swinging bed extenders, in those cases 4WD did pull them off the ledges.

I considered fabricating one up for my Talon x4 out of aluminum just like I did on my P1k5 until I took the X4 on a week of rides in the Badlands and Black Hills.

With just essentially a plastic trunk locker filled with basic tools, tire kit, first aid items, plus a gallon of gas and a small cooler it definitely made the buggy wallow a lot more than I expected. 600 lbs of capacity is not a lot.

It’s definitely nice work for sure. Be careful not to overload it and get too much exterior hanging weight.

Safety nanny out…

It’ll just be a cooler or another storage box for the “essential” item that I always carry with me. Nothing overly heavy.

A Yeti 45 holds 54 cans x 13oz each = ~44lb + 25lb cooler weight + ice = you good. Hell, pack two.
