The wife and I will be hauling our Talon to the Angel Fire/Red River/Taos area the last week of August. We'll be staying with friends at their cabin in Valle Escondido (a bit west on the Enchanted Circle, Hwy 64, from Angel Fire). There's some scenic riding to be had on mountain trails surrounding the valley there. We'll spend at least a day riding trails above Red River too. We have trailered our Grizzlies there in the past and enjoy the ride up to and around Greenie Peak (3-4 miles north of Red River). The Goose Lake trail can be exciting too, with a particularly beautiful termination at (you guessed it) Goose Lake. This high lake sits just north over the peaks from the Taos Ski Basin. But, to get to the ski area from Goose Lake is a hike, as there is no motorized vehicle traffic allowed beyond the lake.

This will be our first time there with a side-by-side.

I have not been to the take over ride or even to Taylor Lake, what spares are people bringing? I have my tool kit with a couple ball joints and tie rods, but are people bringing extra axles, a-arms, etc.? I have watched some of the videos and there are a couple areas that look like the could snap an axle if you get too happy with the throttle. What are people bringing, and if you are bringing axles are you bringing both front and rear, I just don't want to be that guy that breaks and does not have the parts to fix his machine.

Not 100% sure but I'm sure there will be a few extra parts around the group. I carry extra tierods,tire plugs Co2 bottle,1st aid kit, 12v pump for washing out radiator and recovery gear. I'm planning on having 5 gals fuel, some oil and assorted tools.

I think a few miner parts for on the trail and the major parts maybe at the campground. We have done major repairs out on the trails, but I'm sure we will be able to get someone back to the campground if needed.
I'll start a list on this thread and see what others are bringing. There isn't any reason to carry double and triple of the same parts.

Parts you plan to bring on this ride!

Tram ---- 2 tierod ends, extra tierod nuts,3 extra 5gal fuel cans, tire plugs w/2 Co2 bottles, battery power tools, MAP gas torch,hand tools,wiring tools and miscellaneous hardware.
Everyone should carry at least 1 ratchet strap in there machine!

Colorado OHV tag is needed
A few of us are rving at Highlander rv park just outside Lake City. I plan to be there the evening of the 3rd. Riding loop on the 4th. Times as it gets closer.

Not all of the cpw places have the stickers. You're better off hitting up sporting goods or power sports shops.

Walmart’s.... ace hardware... anywhere that sells fishing licenses can sell them I think....all they need is 25.25 cents.... no vin number... nothing.....
