So many memories are made hunting together. Mine started out kind of weird, hunting with my uncle, driving country roads looking for a deer to run across a field, he would jump out of his 53 Chevy pick up and shoot it on a dead run, he was born in a different time. A couple buddies of mine talked me into bow hunting when I turned 43, they took me to Nebraska and dumped me out with a piss poor bow, no luck, went the next year, same deal, but I watched how deer moved both years. We went up there in the summer before hunting season to get permission to hunt. I had a plan, new bow, practiced every day 100 arrows. Built ground blinds on the North and South side of a snow break (trees)which ran East to West at the 1/2 acre mark where the farmers left a gap to get equipment through, I could hunt any wind. I had the location marked on my GPS and could walk the half mile to it in pitch black, would arrive 4:30 AM in the morning, one morning I was sitting in my ground blind before sun up and here came a bunch of does and yearling, well a yearling ends up in my ground blind with me, that freaks the yearling out and the whole herd out, there all stomping and snorting and it's getting close to real time, so I waved my arms, no effect, stood up waved my arms no effect trying to scare them off, thought they can't see me, so I had a zip loc bag of Camo Dust (white) held it up and shook it like the tail of a deer, they all looked up, quit there antics and fead right on through and I harvested a nice buck a hour later. True story!

Just now getting started. We had termite damage to our hunting cabin and have been rebuilding it all of October. We have killed 35 in 3 hunts before I took my son for a short round on Monday.

Way to go DAD!

I’m not sure where you are at in Arkansas. I plan on bringing our dogs over to the black river Inbetween duck season splits and killing some
Fox squirrels over there.

Really don't know what's happened to our squirrels, lots of Hawks and Eagles around here. So that's probably what happened?

Was at a buddy’s house yesterday. His son shot this buck chasing a doe In the field behind the house. It happened quick. That kid hollered so loud after that shot! Lol Stopped that buck dead in his tracks.

Had a great weekend and got this big pig Sat evening and this 10pt buck Sun afternoon.
Took the pig with a Bushmaster AR15 that has been customized and topped with a thermal scope and used Barnes 62 gr TTSX pills. Have pics of a couple more big boys that I hope to put my wife on next weekend.

The buck was taken with my Rem 700 BDL topped with a Leupold scope and shooting Rem 150 gr CL Bullets.

Had a hard time passing our “duck” tank as it was covered in ducks. We try to hold off on serious duck hunting till all the members get their buck. Only 2 more guys need to tag a buck, then it’s fowl time

One of our guys did get 2 great Gobblers yesterday while his younger son was after a buck. The son did get a 10pt that had some “ground shrinkage”. Should have let that one go another year or 2.

posted these on the favorite hunting rifle thread also.

First was taken by my 19 year old up near Prescott, opening day 10/25 by 9 AM. I was hunting elsewhere and he did it with a few of his buddies from scouting to meat in the fridge, which is cool to see as a father. Only question I got was how to stack the quarters in the fridge for aging when he got it home.

My 21 yo son and I had early rifle tags on the North Rim of the Grand Canyon (the Kaibab). He took his the second evening 10/26.

Three mornings later I took mine (10/29). Great year for us.

Cool to see all the photos, especially the kids. Mine are older now and they all hunt and fish - some harder than others but most importantly they all like the outdoors.
