well found the problem. because the inserts for the tie rods were wrong size. the the tire rods set up a little higher than usual. about half inch. well when i hit the tree it bent the metal on the portal adapter. easy fix. just bent it back down and everything is copisthetic now. so all and all the steering arm for the portals are weaker than the tie rodes
