Clutch Basket update:
Pressure washed and cleaned up good the other night, cab is presentable now. Box was installed used when this was new and obviously shows that with the Ryder yellow showing.

Mechanically this thing seems very sound. The diesel is very smooth and quiet, transmission shifts awesome clutch peddle very easy. Brakes and steering great no issues.
Found a small drip last night when turned off, appeared to be cooling system but it had water in it so hard to tell. Replaced with antifreeze after a full flush and can’t see anything further, did a pressure test, nothing. Ran another 100 miles last night (375 to date) and nothing but purring so decided I will keep putting local miles on it till we can get all hoses and water pump replaced. So far all minor crap for a rig sitting so long.
This really does drive great no slop easy to run, been driving it daily, love the little machine. It’s great being in a 5-speed again. Appears to be getting almost the mileage of my Dodge (looks to be around 15-16 mostly town) but haven’t checked correctly.
Sounds like it's going to be a good one .

So, are you gonna paint that thing, get it wrapped or leave it incognito?

You should write “free candy” or “not hauling drugs” or “illegals not on board” down the side!
We thought about giant Coors light logos but then I’m afraid they’ll pull me over at weight stations and ask for my log books.

I'm suggesting you consider changing to full synthetic when you change the tranny oil. (Load, hills, summer heat) It'll last a lifetime if you do. Same for rear end (85W-140). Front wheel bearings too. Did you manage to find all the grease zerks shown in the maintenance manual? (Including Clutch cross shaft and throwout bearing)

slowly I’ll get to all that, one thing at a time. It only takes money lol. Owners manual in hand!

You can go to a bulk petroleum distributor to buy the oil in a 5 gal pail and save a bunch compared to parts house - use your business name but pay cash and get the wholesale price like they charge the trucking companies - unless you have a buddy that owns a trucking company - then a Coors Bribe may suffice...

First road trip In the rig. Headed to the other side of the state. So far so good. Lost a taillight and I believe fuelpymp relay got warm causing a 10 min delay. 30 years old but chugging along.
15.5 mpg. :)
