P500 Winch question

Will the four assessory wiring harness power a winch or does it need to go straight to the battery?

The harness powers a relay which has wires to the battery.

winch gets wired back to the battery, the accy harness is for small accy.

@Sbrown ... Your winch has a solenoid, mount that under the hood somewhere, wire from the winch to the solenoid, solenoid back to battery. Use cables supplied with winch or get some good stuff. Winch draws a lot of power, don't want to skimp on that and burn it up.

I bought a good set of 6 gauge jumper cables and cut the ends off and used it. Both wires together, thick coating and easy to run. Dedicated for winch, mounted the sealed solenoid/wireless control box to cross member near dash.

No choice on this. Read @trigger's post and read the installation instructions that should come with your winch.

agreed, kind of a pain getting the heavy gauge wire into the battery box and getting the box cover back on but with some patience it can be done.

IMO, install a power block somewhere for future hook ups. Then you only have the two cables running into the battery box.
And there will most definitely be future hooking up!
