P500 winch connection

I ran my power to my winch from the battery. Is there somewhere closer to the winch on my 2015 Pioneer 500 that I can connect them?

Not unless you put in a power block. What's the issue?

I don't know what a power block is. However, after search this website I think I found a compromise. The positive connection is not a problem, but as it is so tight in the battery box, my negative cable is hard to tighten down. I will reattach the negative cable to the frame in a more accessible place and leave the positive attached to the battery. Removing one cable should make the battery box lid close better. Thanks for the replies.

Like a buss bar or fuse block, for power distribution. Instead of running all the accessories you add back to the battery, mount one of these under the hood.

I mounted one of these with 8gauge wire. Worked great. I mounted it where the owners manual goes, under the passenger seat cus there was too much voltage drop trying to run it under the hood.

the power cables to a winch are pretty thick. My question was, if anyone thinks I should stack another cable to the terminal or try to run that giant winch cable to that little bitty power box.

Was able to fit a 6 ga. positive in the battery box, ran to a terminal post under the hood with an inline 300 amp switched circuit breaker mounted near the battery box on the seat frame behind the passenger seat. 6 ga ground to frame under hood. Example parts.

I just wrapped this up today. Tan straight from the battery box with you. I left the inline fuse behind the seat, with make-shift cover to keep it out of the elements. Just wanted to keep it a littler higher just in case.

Was able to ground it where the seat hooks around. Saw a little bit of room there and it ended up working out nicely.

gonna secure the power block better another time. I don’t want to drill any holes, so I’m gonna be some weather proof Velcro-esque kind of stuff.

I just wrapped this up today. Tan straight from the battery box with you. I left the inline fuse behind the seat, with make-shift cover to keep it out of the elements. Just wanted to keep it a littler higher just in case.

Do you mean the relay? I put mine under the hood by the firewall.

I have some exterior rated heavy duty adhesive backed velcro on hand, but still used zip ties. No issues after 5 years.
