P1000 When a snow plow isnt enough

Have a KFI 72" plow... we get a huge amount of snow, 8 month long winters.. It has never had a problem...I should note that I do have chains also which helps alot

What do you have it mounted on?

yup.i fired up my walk behind snowblower for the first time this year to check it over and inspect the belts a couple days ago,and ordered a few replacement parts for my camso tracks.oct. 4 was the first snowfall for me last year.

We got about 9" a year ago this week. Fortunately, this season nice warm (76f today) weather is holding. It got down to 27f last night so winter is still coming. 8 cords of wood to stack on the deck, just ordered propane before it gets any more expensive, and bit the bullet on a Honda snow blower which finally came into stock. Two days I hate the most. Camso on day and Camso off day. The tracks sure make winter riding nice though.

If you don't mind me asking, what's the price of propane there? I'm in Gardnerville about 50 miles south of Reno, NV. Have a 1000 gal in-ground tank. Several of us get together and shop price (which you can't do unless you own your tank). Best we could do two weeks ago was $1.80 a gallon. That's up at least 50 cents from last year.

$2.30/gallon My DIL who does some management stuff in the propane world, who is now working out of my office because COVID was talking to a client in CA......She mentioned $4 something out there!

Oh, there are some propane companies pushing those kind of prices here too, we were quoted almost $3 by one company. By banding together, so to speak, and placing the order for a number of us before the winter rush, we've been able to do pretty good, but I think some of the farmers in the mid-west do a lot better with their farm tanks.

Edit: piqued my interest - $2.04 now.
Edit dos: I'm not the type of person who drives around to find gas 2 pennies cheaper, but when you're buying 700 gls at a time . . .

Just starting my plow build for my pioneer but hoping that this will become the backup as an enclosed cab with a heater sounds much nicer of an environment to remove snow with 👌🏻

I'd like a plow for my Honda, but can't justify it and all the winterizing I'd need to do to stay warm. I have a nice warm cab and a 64" blower out front on the Kubota. It blows! The blower housing, chute, and fan blades are lined with 1/8" UHMW for less sticking and more throw distance. The vid below is clearing a neighbor's driveway.

This is it, 36” Ariens Pro here. After one 24” snow using a 20” Toro enough was enough. Garden tractor with 48” blade works nice up to 10”, the Ariens is for the heavy lifting. Hand heat only.

I dont plow snow with my honda. Spent too many years moving snow with my grizzly 450. Did a great job but got tired of being out in the open when the temp was -15 with a 50 mph wind, and you run out of places to push it around February....Now I use a tractor with a cab, heat, loader, and 6 ft blower on the back.

1/4 acre of asphalt used to take an hour with the mower alone, now takes maybe 15 min.

Asking your mower to plow snow is like asking your toaster to make you coffee.

The mower is so much more maneuverable that it still will be used around the buildings. It's a good combo and it's nice to have two different methods in case of break down.

Been plowing with my 700-4 and 72" Denali for 2 years now. Yesterday was the first real challenge for it. We had about 8-10" with a nice layer of ice on top and bottom. Drifts in the driveway a couple of feet high in spots. The Pioneer handled it like a champ. Had to take smaller bites as the windrows were getting pretty tall and heavy but it handled everything just fine. Ran out of traction a few times but never out of power. Snowing again now and can't wait to get out there and play again!
