I ended up grabbing the Primeweld TIG225X AC/DC TIG welder directly from their web site during their Black Friday sale.

Hard to believe I could get a good quality 225A inverter machine that does both AC and DC GTAW (including hi/lo/off pulse) and SMAW with a legit CK17 Superflex torch w/ HF arc start, and a 3-year no hassle warranty & 7-day a week support for only $764. I'll probably add a water-cooled torch (CK20) and Primeweld cooler down the road.

I use water coolers on all my Tig welders, I have not ever tried the Primeweld water cooler. I run a Miller CoolMate on my welder right now. I intend to buy a Primeweld water cooler this summer for a big project. Great buy and I hope you enjoy your purchase for years to come.

I have been very happy with both my miller machines

The 625 plasma travels well and stores nice. It cuts great too

The 251 is awesome. The control is great and the setup is easy. The spool gun is cool too

Yea, the Primeweld Maxcool 3000 is only $400. Was $355 for BF sale, and you can power it right from the 225X or 325X.

I have one at my Business and it is great. It's overpowered for what we weld but I have had a couple instances where I needed 275 amps and I can't get that from the 225X. It is the same machine, just more power for those higher amps. You can make up the difference with using preheat and a helium mixture when using AC.

You probably won't need them, but I found a guy who prints laminated labels for all the knobs on the TIG225X:

Thread title is welder porn, so here ya go.

Finally getting my latest acquisitions put together.

The Primeweld TIG225X is on a Vulcan 350# welding cart from HF. It is the perfect fit for the large footprint of this welder. 125CF cylinder with 100% Argon is from weldingforless.com. Went with the standard 17 Series CK Worldwide torch, but I will be ordering a stubby kit for it shortly.

Plasma cutter is a Bestarc 50A dual voltage w/HF pilot arc start (7th Gen). I did manage to try this out for a bit, cutting up some scrap metal I had laying around the pole barn. Pretty nice. Liked it so much, I bought one for my brother for Christmas ... Also picked up a Bauer 8A 4.5" angle grinder, some cutoff wheels and some 40-grit flap discs.

My PPE and consumables were purchased from various sites online. Got a bunch of welding coupons, filler wires, and a few weldable kits from weldmetalsonline.com (Justin is awesome). I'm looking forward to learning how to TIG weld.

Welding/fab table and the two-tier welding cart are both made by Klutch, purchased from NorthernTool.com. Both are very solid. The two-tier cart is regularly $150, but it was on sale for $99 and I got a $50 gift card after purchasing the welding/fab table, so it only cost me $50! When I decide to order the Primeweld MIG285, it will fit nicely on there and will have another 125CF cylinder (C25) on that one.

All this for less than half the cost of a Miller Multimatic 220 ACDC. The TIG225X should perform just as good as the Miller, based on countless reviews I've watched and read. Lots of folks who run blue or red @ work buy this thing for home.

Man Scoop, I am sure glad you brought up this Primeweld brand. I did some research and although made in China/Tiawan, it looks like they have fantastic U.S. customer support! Read a lot of reviews where- as-received, something was broken/missing, 1 phone call and a replacement something was shipped next-day.

I am in the market for a plasma cutter and I've been shopping around for quite awhile. Was almost ready to pull the trigger on a JEG's house brand one until I looked at all the reviews on the Primeweld CUT60- dual input voltage, 7/8" thick cut capability and (which I did not look into on the JEG's unit) has the CNC connector on the back. I point this out because in the near future, I would like to purchase an ArcDroid and the JEG's unit does not have the external control as well as it is a high-frequency start torch, so not capable of being used with external electronics.
