Frost laws usually last for a few weeks, you can't haul heavy loads on the roads due to the frost coming out of the ground. Makes the base just under the road mushy and heavy loads will tear up the paving. Once the frost comes out and the water permeates, you're good to go again. For guys hauling dozers, excavators, gravel trains, you might be locked and unable to move anything for a bit.
Local deliveries only. Haha. Guys try and get around it. Haha. Living in the North.

Finally dried out for 3 days so did the big tree/brush burn pile yesterday before rain storms return today, anuual burn ban here takes effect at end of month. Glad I had the Stihl backpack blower to accelerate the burn rate before nightfall. Made the fire look like a blast furnace. Coal pile soaked with many front end loader buckets of pond water, not taking chances with the nearby barn and Toys inside.
We do the same thing in Cape Breton. Get out the leaf blower. She starts to cook. We’ve used it in the rain before, just like a big set of billows. Lol.

What is a snow blower? :p
Lol. I’m just watching Troy Landry and the boys in Swamp people. The day they are out, at 7:30 it was 100 degrees with a heat index of 130. At 7:30 in the morning. Toooo hot for this northern boy. I know you’ve been in that heat before. Makes me sweat, and I’m outside in10 degrees. Haha

Wow! That’s just amazing to me. Funny the way differing regions have their differing issues to deal with.

Monte, you’ll have to go to McMullans and get an Irish breakfast next weekend. You’ll love it. And yes I looked up LV. NM. Haha. So, do you go across Texas, or go across the panhandle of Oklahoma yo get to NM. Curious. It looks like you might get a little hot in the summer down there. :). :D

I take I-40 all the way so I cross the pan handle of Texas. The summer heat here doesn’t compare to what I have to contend with in Oklahoma and Arkansas. I’ve not seen any 100’s here and the humidity is extremely low. Even July and August evenings are sweater weather.

Some people are just lucky to get some time off. Lol. We get to keep working in the animal feed business because they let us buy permits or let the farms bond the roads. We are limited to 35mph on the restricted roads. Some counties won’t give permits and we can only haul about 45% of a legal load. Makes for long 5 to 6 weeks.
