Hello all,

Recently purchased a new ABU 24’ full tilt 14k Gooseneck trailer. Traded in my 18’ aluminum car trailer in on it.

Trailer is powered up and down with a separate chain box, power boxes. Came with dual jacks, led lights, drive over fenders and a pre installed winch plate.

Planned updates:

Wireless tilt control update
Cube lights on gooseneck and under deck for the night time loading events
12k wire rope winch, also with wireless controller
Decal removal
Solar charger (already has 110v charging)
Spare tire
110v inverter
Cam locks for the deck in the down position.
AGM deep cycle battery ( don’t like standard deep cycle batteries in enclosed boxes)

Isn't that a little bit of an overkill for hauling a Talon?

LOL! J/K. Nice trailer ... and truck!

Talon, plus p1k5 I’m hoping.

Or skid steer, some attachments and my sportsman or p1k5.

I wanted a 28’ footer but I was worried about the tail being too long and low for some of the fields or pastures I’ll be out in.

I could still add a 2” receiver on the tail and add my 14’ PJ SXS trailer and still be legal in SD lol.

Mounted the HF winch today.

I also welded a section of 2” 1/4” angle on the underside of the bed to a cross member so that the winch is tied to the factory welded plate, and the frame at the same time.

I picked up a set of quick connectors for the winch. For now I’m just going to put cable clamps on the ends of the cables that are just long enough to reach the tilt control box and its battery. When I don’t need the winch , I’ll just coil up the cable and stow it in the tilt cabinet.

Here are the quick disconnects I used.

Bit warmer today, I found this cheapo winch cover on Amazon awhile back, and decided just to follow kiss method on the cable ends. I found some metal clamps with removable clamp pad, and soldered the wires to the pad and goobered liquid tape on the exposed wire.
