I'm back with some pics of my battery, lights, dash switches and stereo install. The side lights were on my Ranger a few years ago, so I wanted to use them again on the Pioneer. This project took me longer than I expected. I took my time trying to keep things neat and being careful making my connections. I ordered everything through amazon and had to wait awhile because shipments came from different places at different times. For all you that may be thinking of doing something like this, It takes a lot of thought because you run out of space to mount things pretty quick. I still need to tidy up some wires and find a keyed power source for the bottom lights on the rocker switches.

@16Honda Nice setup! Looks like a very clean install of the dual batteries and in dash rocker switches, props. Can you share some specific on exact battery used, isolation kit, sub harness, etc.?

For a keyed source for your rocker backlights there should be a black wire with white stripe coming out of your dash that feeds the cigarette lighter / accessory socket that should do the trick and be handily close.

Thanks, I have to say this was a lot of work I could of used 3 more hands for this job! I didn't use a sub harness, I made everything myself.I wish now I used a prewired harness. 3 of the switches came from
OTRATTW the other I don't remember.
links for the isolator,battery

Very nice job @16Honda.

I'm glad I don't have my P1000 yet in a way. It gives me time to see what everyone else is doing.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it tomorrow.

Real nice setup 16Honda. This is the isolator I went with. Should be here Monday. Sry this is probably a stupid question but where did u connect common ground coming from isolator too?

I connected the small ground wire to the small bolt just in front of the tool kit. It was going to be a temporary connection but it's still there. You can see it in the photo.

Anyone with ideas on what to use to hold the second battery in place?

That's the next thing I need to do.I haven't decided what to do for mine. My battery is pretty snug with the rubber around it but I need to come up with a strap to hold in.

I don't think it would take much but I definitely want to get something on there. Maybe a piece of flexible rubber with a couple of panel rivets (or whatever those things are that hold all of the plastics on...)

I don't have my machine home yet to see, but on other applications in the past, I have used rubber bungee's successfully for this purpose.

Here is how I made my strap it's just a hose clamp. I drilled holes and just ran clamp under plastic and around battery.

Well you could but then you run the risk of draining both batteries to the point you cannot start your SXS engine, leaving you stranded. Same with an unexpected short. The isolator is valuable protection for your OEM electronic system. The old adage just because you can doesn't mean you should applies here.
