Like everything else, it's a cheat. Nothing like going down in the history books as the "1st female/blackish President" only with an asterisk beside it that says "kind of". IMO, it tarnishes the achievement. But, it would fall in line with the rest of her achievements she never earned.

My wife and I were just wondering about that. I guess it's a safe move in a solid Republican state. DeSantis can quickly appoint good R replacements.

With Gaetz's appointment I realized what Trump's strategy is. After being abused by many of his cabinet secretaries who were members of the swamp during his first administration he will not select from the swamp. His new strategy appears to be selecting younger men and women who are loyal to him and the party not tainted by the swamp.
