You should have quite a bit more left

I typically do. I can usually squeeze in the 20litres I carry in a NATO can so that does point to woeful inaccuracy

Not riding hard but in mud or in snow, I usually get 120 - 140 miles before I get nervous and add more fuel.

Don't know if it makes a difference but I run 91 octane, non-ethanol fuel.

When I met up with PioneerAdam and Knuckle where we rode I went 56miles and was on empty in the forest. Sunday's trip was 23miles I didn't use 1/2 tank same tires and an extra person in the back my silverbacks weren't fighting sugar sand to turn.
Just seems way off

Don’t worry too much about tools, tires, parts etc. not a single member will leave you stranded unless you deserve it. Any tools will be a quick radio call away. So, grab a small set of sockets, screwdrivers etc, but don’t invest in cordless impacts unless you have a need in other parts of life. Doesn’t need to be snap on either, not everyone is a retired dealer/mechanic with lots and lots of crap kicking around.

100 miles on a tank is pretty easy. I think you could get 150 on a real good day. For me I just fill up when fuel is available and I don't carry spare fuel.

For tools I have CO2, tire plug kit, 1/4" and 3/8" drive ratchets and sockets, screw driver, pry bar, pliers and zip ties. 2 straps and a snatch block and 4 shackles for recovery.
I have been able to hit as
much as 300 miles. I keep rpms around 1800 /2400 no clutch problems I have 2000 miles on mine. Using manual to shift speed from 5mph to 50mph.

Last Friday I took delivery of an Awesome P1k5 Dlx. Love it. Now I found out about the
2018 PIONEER TAKEOVER - April 21 & 22 - Ride Royal Blue!
and made reservations to go.

So, I'm wondering what tools do you carry with you for all day trail riding, and how long does a tank of gas last? Guessing I'll need to carry and extra 5 or 10 gallons, but hoping to hear from experienced riders to save me from making a rookie mistake.

Thx all.

Here’s my list. This list will not net you good mpgs!

1: 4 extra gallons of fuel
2: spare tire
3: extra lug nuts
4: valve stems
5: compressor
6: tire plugs
7: tire iron
8: flashlights
9: CO2 tire bead seater thanks @Hondasxs
10: sockets, wrenches, hex wrenches,screwdrivers,etc
11: first aid kit
12: chainsaw with extra oil and gas
13: 70' of extra recovery rope
14: tree saver and snatch block and clevis
15: jumper cables
16: zip ties, fender rivets, duct tape
17: bungee cords and ratchet straps
18: WD40
19: GPS on iPhone (but want a differentt gps)
20: Springfield XDS 45
21: Gerber Gator Machete
22: lighter, flint striker, petroleum jelly soaked cotton balls
23: TP
24: fire extinguisher
25: leather gloves
26: phone charger
27: baby wet wipes
28: valve stem replacement tool
29: adjustable wrench
30: lithium jump pack
31: tie rods
32: vise grip pliers
33: fuses
34: extra winch rope

ADDITIONAL ITEMS I USUALLY CARRY
1: small cooler
2: dry box
3: 6-8 bottles of water
4:

THINGS I MAY NEED FOR A OVERNIGHT TRIP.
1: extra food and water
2: tarp to keep camp dry in case of rain
3: extra clothes
4: bed roll

I'll leave at the truck some axles and a full size 30" tire. Probably some oil and filters as well. That what I did at the Takeover.

When I had my P1K-3, I could get about 7 hours of fuel time on a full tank. That's using at a moderate load all day. The problem is the fuel tank is way too small for a machine with this amount of weight. Don't know why Honda didn't find room for an extra 3-4 gallons. I carried a 6 gallon jerry can around with me for as long as I could stand it. After one too many close calls, I just said heck with it. Just stay close to a gas station!

Great list. I would definitely add a small come-along. My brother and I were way out in the bush. I was in the SxS and he was on a quad. Of course he went where he shouldn’t have and cart-wheeled the quad down a hydro trail... way too steep. He was out of range of my winch and the quad was on top of him. Used the come-along to roll the machine over, got the thing on its wheels and tied it off. Added several lengths of rope to my winch line and pulled it up the hill. He was dazed and had three broken ribs. Couldn’t help with the recovery. The moral of this story is to have a come-along or a block-and-tackle for when you aren’t in a group.

Yes, good point. I do carry a snatch block and pieces for recovery. In addition I’ve got a winch mounted in the front and the rear. Each winch has 50’ of rope and then I’ve got a 70’ recovery rope. If it’s real bad I could use the extra winch rope too.

Believe it or not, all that stuff is in the vehicle pretty much every pic and vid you’ve seen of Traveller.

I use two water proof ammo cans under the driver seat. One pelican case under the bed in the rear passengers floor board. And one pelican case in the bed.

Yes, WAY. Filled it up enroute to MO. for hunting. Put less than 70 miles on it and added 7-8 gal fuel!

Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
I think something is wrong then.. you should be getting better mileage than that. I’m assuming if you were there hunting you weren’t riding it hard either?

One thing nobody mentioned was wire cutters. On atvs ive had barbed wire/fencing wrapped around an axel before.

That’s where my leather man comes in. It’s always on my hip. Well, except for our last ride at Top Trails with @ohanacreek. I had left it in the truck. Of coarse on that trip I needed it as I was changing a tie rod.
