Soon as I get my rear door mods and under seat mods done for storage, I'm gonna come back to this thread and fill-er-up!! Some good lists here. Though I don't do a lot of rough riding of trails with rocks and such, The Gulf Coast has its own special kinds of hazards that can be rough on equipment and I see a lot of good planning with gear in this thread that I will take advantage of... about got all my suspension and comfort items taken care of thanks to the wealth of knowledge from you folks here... next will come the space mods to haul more "stuff"... :p ;)👍

I've used them for years in a kayak and my Pioneer. There's a big quality, longevity difference, especially for heavy metal gear bouncing around in the back of a SxS. You can buy thin nylon bags anywhere and they may be all that you need. My strong recommendation is to buy the thicker vinyl bags. They take more abuse before they puncture and tear.

I bought these from Recreation Outlet (32nd-ish S. State in Salt Lake). They have good prices for nylon bags, which have their purpose, and these vinyl bags, which I prefer for a SxS.
The two on the left are 35 liter bags. I load these up for the specific needs of the trip - jackets, gloves, camera gear, Jameson Stout, etc., the comfort things. The orange 35 liter bag is six years old and 1,800+ miles in SxS service; the yellow is new.
The small orange bag is 9 liters and I use it solely for emergency supplies - a first aid kit, matches and the critical TP.
The camo bag is 15 liters-ish and I use it only for recovery gear and throw it in if I'm going far away / alone.

My recovery gear Camo dry bag has two snatch blocks, an unopened tow strap, two Dyneema soft shackles that YouTube helped me make, and a 25 foot Dyneema recovery rope that I also made when YouTube taught me about the Mobius splice.

The bags roll and deflate to the size of the contents and seal at the top. The carbiners hook them in and secure the load. If you have tools/heavy metal stuff, wrap it in a rag or plastic bag inside so it doesn't bounce and puncture the bag. The bags work for dust, mud and water short of full-submarine incidents. And when you're done, "hang it over a post, slap it around, and hose it down" to clean it. (old SNL skit).

(Cimer can rightfully b-slap me after I busted his chops about his gear and 10th Mtn. Division - I'm not showing anyone what else I carry with me . . . maybe it's an email server, a laptop, and your November ballot. Not sayin 🕵️‍♂️).

Over.

Is that a 10 mm crescent wrench?

(you may have to follow the Meme Dumping Zone to get this . . . )
I do and saw that meme. I also got the metric crescent wrench. :p
