Just read through this whole thread... What a labor of love sir!! My congratulations to you and your bride!! That's a fine looking functional machine! I've started down a similar path with my '16 P15K and it's been fun so far... Not even close to the class you're in but still a fun project... I have a bunch of parts sitting in the barn waiting on me to get home this evening to continue... Reading through your thread has given me yet more ideas... And mine is more of a tool too around our farm here in SE Texas... Play time is when I take it to South Texas brush country to chase ol' big buck...
Thank you very much! My wife and I really enjoy this machine. It is our favorite purchase we have made. We can't imagine life without it at this point. I try to keep my thread updated with everything we do in a hopes to help others. I see so much information on this forum from so many people I feel I can give back to others by providing what I have done/learned and I hope it can be helpful to all. I would not know as much as I do if it wasn't for this awesome website!

Finally got time to work on the pioneer. I am installing the skid plate and servicing diff fluids, sub trans, and engine oils.

Proper Protection: 09-02-22

Inatalled the SuperATV full skid plate. That was a chore and a half! Used riv-nuts instead of the provided self tapping screws. I purchased a generic tool from Amazon and a box of M6 riv-nuts. I forgot about the actual bolts and ended up buying 34 from Westlakes for $1.16 each :/ they were $9 for 25 on Amazon. Good drill bits are HIGHLY recommended! I used a Bosch 1/4 to start each hole and then a Bosch 23/64 to finish it from menards. I went thru a couple of them.



I used 25mm and 35mm bolts depending on the location.

Being A Lube Technician: 09-04-22

At 1417 miles and 318.5 hours I changed front differential fluid, rear differential fluid, sub-trans oil, and engine oil. The dealership shorted me 1 quart of GN4. It's a good thing I always keep extra oil around. I replaced all the crush washers and o-rings as well. I followed all the wonderful step-by-step instructions found on this awesome website!

I like to use a drill bit up to the hole size smaller than the nutsert and then I switch to a unibit as they tend to drill a hole that is more round than a drill bit.

Installed some cool fox shocks I was able to snag on a sweet deal! I replaced the front coils with 250lb Viper single rate and the rear coils with 300lb Viper single rate. They ride very nicely! The front seem to just barely make contact with the tires at full turn under full compression so I will have to address this issue at some point. The ride quality is greatly improved even with the high lifter lift kit. I look forward to trying these things out!

I finally replaced my front axles with Rhino 2.0! The click that has plagued the machine since it left ride royal blue is gone! Hopefully these will outlast the OEM.

My wife and I just finished unpacking from our trip to Drummond. It was a long awaited vacation. We had a blast! We kayaked in Glenn Cove, hit every UTV trail, boated around some, hit all the gift shops, and just relaxed in the enjoyment of being 1000 miles from home forced to be in a position of just not caring of what's going on at home!

We went up and down marblehead 4 times. We did not meet as many people on the trails this year compared to our last trip. We were able to eat at Esther's for the first time. We met a new friend selling some cool gear that knew my wife's great grandfather. Overall just a memorable trip as always!

We learned with all our new upgrades we will be purchasing c-fab arms this black Friday. I emailed the company and confirmed they will have a black Friday sale so we look forward to that. My high lifter arms and lift will be up for sale eventually.

Thank you to EVERYONE on this website who compiles all of this amazing information to bring out the enjoyment of being outdoors with powersports!

Are you referring to a step bit? I used a Bosch 1/4 to start each hole and then a Bosch 23/64.

It's Getting Cold Outside: 12-18-22

I got the doors and rear panel put on the machine today. In addition I added some seat warmers. With some fanagaling I was able to get the hooks under the seat and wedged the ciricles inbehind the cushion. I am curious to see how well they may feel in the cold. I also purchased an "automonile" heater. It is a cheap 12v heater from ebay. I am also curious to see how that does for me. I made a base for the heater that clips into my tablet RAM mount and it gets its power from my trolling motor/charger plug under the driver. I think it will all work fine for the Missouri weather.

Do you still have the 28" Intimidator tires on your sxs. I have 28" BHII on mine and have no rubbing issues. If you still have those and don't mind measuring, what is the overall height on those?

I do still have them. I will try to get some measurements tonight. The only rubbing I currently have is on the front shock coil. That is caused by my bracket lift. I hope to remedy that soon if cfab will ever ship my new control arms. I really enjoy these tires like crazy. I would strongly recommend them.

Sorry it took so long. I am not sure how many miles I have on mine but they are slightly wore down. I run around 10PSI in them and it looks like they are around 27"-27.25" tall. I will include a picture of my spare which is still new for reference. The width looks about 10" as they advertise.

A Hole In The Door: 05-15-23

I finally did the rear door storage mod. I used the button quick release pins on each hole. I found mine thru a search on ebay and I was able to obtain a good bulk purchase of them. I did not want to have any hinges or rivets to mess with. The two upper holes in the corner on each side did not allow the button to fully recess into it. So I removed the center mechanism using a pick. It just threads in and out. I used a bolt with electrical tape on the end to act as a bushing. Then sandwiched the button housing between two nuts and used a grinder to resize the button housing. It worked out great. The ball/pins were cut to length to keep the interior free from threaded poke points. I adjusted everything before using red loctite on all the button and pin threads. I cut the holes with an air powered cut off wheel and then used an air powered grinder to smooth out all of my edges. I have enough buttons to do the very rear sections as well. I have not done then yet because I am not sure what I would store there yet. I am excited to get some recovery gear stashed in there and out of the bed and seat area. It was a great idea found many places on here thru a search.
