Hey! I'm looking into getting a 2024 Talon 1000r-4 with Fox Live Valve, mostly due to reliability. Everyone I know with a Rzr is constantly breaking something or losing belts. My concern is that the sales people all say the Talon rides much rougher than the Rzrs or Can Ams. Is that still true with the 1000r with Fox Live Valve?

I'm coming from a 2018 Tacoma with King 2.5 with reservoirs all around and am looking for something that will be able to do tighter trails and do the trails we've been doing smoother and faster, nothing crazy. We live in the Phoenix area but spend a lot of time in southern Utah. If a Talon is as rough as people make it seem, it may not be the fit we're looking for. Any feedback or firsthand comparisons would be greatly appreciated!

Number 1 you said “sales people” dont go by them ever!
Those other brands do cuz they use such monstrous shock towers. But the live valve is nice. You can also have your shocks tuned to your liking. I always say if you want a more plush ride, buy a Bronco or Jeep.
These are SXS’s and they will disappoint you if you think they all no matter the model will give you the perfect ride. They all have there flaws that one will have over the other.

Well, that's the first time I've ever heard someone say the ride in a Jeep is "plush." Now I'm really conerned... haha
If you search up top youll see we've said this alot lol. Now Compared to sxs yes. But all the jeeps I owned rode like crap on road lol .

The 2023 and newer live valve models ride good. My 2023 Talon R 4-seater and my buddies 2023 2-seater are both good enough to satisfy me. The 2-seater needed the rear cross over rings moved up about 1/2 inch. I'm buying a new live valve 2-seater later this year to replace my 2019 Talon R with a $2,000 shock upgrade. I'm at 43,000 miles on it now so I will keep it for a spare. I'm over 50,000 miles on my Talons without a breakdown.
