Who is running a thicker gear oil in their sub trans.? I assume no adverse effects? Looking to thicken it up a tad as well as my diffs.

On the 1st service I changed engine oil, and also the sub trans oil, and used Bel-Ray 10-40 Atv Trail oil, and it works fine. I believe the trans is a tad quieter, and shifts into reverse in the morning a bit better.

I'm using ~30% lucas mixed with Honda 10-30 oil. No adverse affects yet and I also believe it may have helped some but it could be the machine breaking in.

By the way, I may be heading out to Bull Run Fri night, Sat or Sun if you or @Delton are going to be out there this weekend.

Another thought that just popped into my mind - why does the sub trans call for light weight motor oil rather than standard 80/90 gear/diff oil?
