P1000 Size of spacers for the front shocks

Hey I was talking to AK_C and got me thinking back to spacers for the time being to fix the shock issues. Can anyone confirm the spacer dimensions for the front shocks on the 1000?

Got my specs out...
Front seems to be 1.78" OD of shock. Better just say 1.8" OD.
It does not need much. I think 1/2" or 3/4" should be enough.
But you could jump up to as high as you want.
Drawback is... It gets stiffer the taller you go.

Now... To find a thick wall pipe that has that ID.

Thanks for reply! Just trying to go enough to stop the bottoming out. I didn't even want to go the full two inches of lift that you can buy. Do you think half inch spacer will be enough? Because I'm a little concerned with stuff jamming up under. Just looking for a temporary fix I hope this will do till better shocks.

Just put a caliper on it again. 2" ID, .25" wall, 1" tall. Cut a few different sizes and try them out.

How tall are the spacers you can buy off ebay? I too would like some to pick the front end up a little bit, but not a full 2"

Two inch lift was all I could find. That's why I was asking here to try to just get the bump out of the front end without jacking it too much and making it stiff, 1inch spacer is two inch lift. I plan on doing 1/2 spacers I'm hoping th all will be enough to fix it till I can hopefully go Fox.

Sounds like exactly what I am looking for, and also hoping for Fox to come out out with front and rear shocks. Guess 4 of us could go in on one of those 2" lift kits off ebay and cut them in half.

Check your local steel suppliers. A 3" pipe cut to 1ft was $7 bucks here in AK.

I believe pipe listed by ID and tubing is listed by OD. Ask for pipe.

Pipe is measured by id up to 12", any thing bigger than 12" is the od. Call a steel supplier and tell them the ID size pipe and they can tell you the od sizes they have.
