Thanks to what must be near record rainfalls, the desert is the greenest I've seen it in some time in most areas (though not so much in this shot).

Rode 71 miles total today. Went to Brushy Mountain Prison and hiked to the old prison mine.

We hiked on up to the lookout tower past the prison mine. 6 miles total on the hike. Hard on a fat man!

Back when I had a red Talon, it looked like this -

Wife's foot is good enough to ride, so away we went for the weekend. Between Eustis and Rangley, made 90 miles of trails over 2 days after some heavy rain. Good riding, kids actually enjoyed most of it, ready to head home.

A few more from Saturday.
Rain threatened most of the day, and the last few hours were mostly steady rainfall, and I went home a bit early.

Fishook cactus bloom. "Macro" mode on this phone doesn't seem like it's all that.

Towards the end of the ride. Machine is a mess now...

This was when it finally let go. Thunder claps as well...finally got me to turn and head back.

I had my "emergency cab" (aka clear shower curtains trimmed to fit each position) with me, but it's a hassle to install and not worth the hassle on this warmer day. I simply wore a rain poncho, and I think this is the direction I will go in warmer weather from now on. I bought a latching tote to replace my tools and junk bag, so it's out of the rain now, but I need to find a way to keep my backpack dry as well. I also think I'll drop my spare gas to maybe a 1-2 gallon can. I take WAY too much s*** with me...

Well...using @Lil_Steve's tracks, I decided to try the Pinal mtn ride he did a few weeks back.

Once the "road" turns south below the junction with fs2568 it drops in and out of a wash, and as to be expected in an area where flash flooding has been occuring for weeks, most of the existing road was gone.

High water lines and junk in the trees...

I got to this spot, which would force me down In The rocks. No biggie and imminently doable, but I wasn't feeling it for some reason. Even with a very slight chance of rain, this was no place to be stuck rock crawling, so I turned back to save it for another day.
My sixth sense works well: less than 30 minutes later, my 700 mysteriously died 3 times in less than a mile. It restarted every time....but not a good feeling out in the boonies. I cut the ride short and headed home.

Doesn't look like the bear scat we get, but then our bears are eating berries up on the mountain, which gives them almost black poop with lots of seeds and/or berries undigested. Or apple bits in brown poop if they've been in our old orchard. In either case it's mostly one pile and not individual, um, lumps.

That looks more like something Bigfoot would leave behind. More proof if you saw any bunnies with brown fur!

Honestly, it looked like coyote s*** with berries in it, but way bigger. Don't think there are wolves here....but it did look slightly "human". No tracks around it.

While they were in Box Canyon, a couple of SxS's that were in front of them had turned around and warned them of a flash flood heading their way. He turned around as fast as he could and narrowly missed the water. He described it as "terrifying".

I've seen several people talk about box canyons "new look". Might actually go back up there now!
