I think it depends on the terrain you ride on. I've never gotten a flat besides blowing a bead, but it was real possible to get one when we were riding here. Though none of us did... You can see my old spare tire and Rotopax mount in this pic too... aka a 2x8.

I won’t disagree with that.. but even if at the truck or camp and with a group, a spare is a good thing to have. There’s a reason every vehicle sold comes with a spare.
