Had to replace the voltage regulator on my ‘17 P500. Its overcharge failure also damaged/swelled the battery. Returned an aftermarket rectifier (plugs did not fit) and replaced with OEM one and new battery. Ok since. Here’s my original post.

Fixed, rectifier was the problem.Thanks for the assistance.
Be sure to monitor it regularly for a while. It's not uncommon (at least when I used to ride 5th and 6th Gen Honda VFRs) for the stator and/or connections to be the root cause, and the regulator/rectifier burning out is/was only a symptom of the actual problem.
