It’s all good, my 18 1000 is better than my 16 1000 too. Just how things tend to work out.

The down side of buying the first year model. The upside though is that it’s built so structural that I think it adds reinforcement to the dash. So it’s not something that will ever ware out and need replacing. Can’t justify a new one.

Received the sample powder coated box today.
I dropped off my first order to them and they should be finished next Wednesday. I will not be taking any orders until I get them back from powder coat. This one will be going in Chooglin's 500 , I still have the original in there and it's going to the smithsonian museum.........lol

I am going to look into this , I know he told me he would charge $1 extra for colors , wich I don't think is bad at all.

Just a suggestion, a color matched box may tip the scales to replace the original. Also, ever tried a keyed lock, slot in top or lower left side for cam lever?

That would be awesome. So the new powder coated box is $15.00 more and $1.00 for red. So for $16.00 could I mail my box back for a red powder coat??????

We have looked into this also , the problem with adding any type of additional "perks" it raises the price. I have tried very hard to keep the price down on these. I hated adding the powder coat because I knew I would need to raise the price on them. It's a great idea though.

It would actually cost you $46

$15 to ship it to me , another $16 for powder coat and $15 for me to ship it back to you. You could probability have it done local for less!
