Where is a good place to purchase the shocks and does it have to be a certain year?
I would search eBay first and see what you can find there. You’ll need four front shocks to do the mod. Model year won’t matter, two of the shocks I got were from a 2018 and two were from a 2016.

Buy/Sell/Trade here might be worth a shot as well. If you are on Facebook you could try in one of the Pioneer Buy/Sell/Trade groups since I see guys upgrading to aftermarket shocks every day.

Where's a good source for 4 front 1000-4 shocks? The rear 1000-4 shocks won't work on the 700-4?

Keep an eye out for used ones here or on your favorite auction sites.
Possibly even your local dealer if they have done any mods for a customer.

Correct, you need four front shocks and some bushings from RB3 off-road.

Thanks for this!!! Thinking about doing this to mine, how are they holding up? And is there any payload loss in the rear from the p1000 front shocks being back there?

I’d also like to hear people’s reviews after doing the 1000 shocks all the way around, overall ride quality, amount of lift all the way around etc.

I can't believe side by side shocks cost more than the shocks for my 2014 F250.

@Cdaily3
Ride: The ride quality is drastically improved. Hard to explain but feels stiffer when sitting still, but softer on bumps and hard turns. Best part is they don’t bottom out like the stock P700 shocks. (Specifically the fronts)

Lift: I got a full 3” of lift on front and back. Measured twice and it was 3”, I had to chop the top 4.5” so it would fit in the garage. My yeti hopper 18, fits under it untouched with another inch or 2 to spare, see pic.

Quick note- (on my 18’ 700-4 deluxe) my rears has a lot of space at the bolts, so I had to add 4x 1/8” wide nylon (washer type) spacers per shock, one one each side of both shock bolts. Only took 2 mins to adjust after a 45 min ride to Home Depot.

Overall, I’m very impressed. For less than $300 bucks and an hour of my time it’s a hell of an improvement. I bought 2 from buy/sell/trade here for $140 and 2 from MRCycles for right at $160 with a promo code.
