After a 2 Day long hunting trip on 10,000 Acres with 2 gallons extra fuel and getting back on fumes, I decided to added more fuel. We had the bed loaded with gear so I knew I needed more fuel on board. Here is what I came up with for mounting the rotopax 3 gallon gas can. I added 8th inch thick aluminum diamond plate heat shield to protect the gas from exhaust heat.

Looks like that'll work great. Any flex issues

It's very solid I used metal strips on the back to reinforce the plastic on the other side. My only issue is if I was to drive around with the tailgate down would heat from the Muffler heat the gas in the tank, not that I really use it with the tailgate down but if I wanted to I wonder if it would be an issue. I guess I could build a small heat shield over the existing heat shield to better protect it from heat.
