I’ve had mine on long runs over 5000 feet a few times per year since buying mine in ‘18, but I really don’t purposely drive through mud that swamps the radiator and I wash my rig religiously before going out on big rides with the family including the radiator. I’ve always had a heater installed in every SXS I’ve owned as I work with them in the winter and it’s a easy way to get more cooling capacity in a emergency if necessary.
with the club store fan mod, and keeping the radiator clean, I’ve never overheated mine, but have been close enough that if I do hit the 3rd bar, a 5 min run on the heater brings it right down without stopping. Yes it’s miserable in the front seat, but we don’t stop either and wait. Usually the only time I’ve had to do that is when it’s also 95 f outside.
on the flip side in the winter, I have to block a good portion of the front radiator cause it takes for ever to warm up heater if you don’t..
