Hey guys, the new 1000 started this the other day when I backed up and stopped really quick, it just died and I didn’t think much of it. It restarted just fine and I went on, fast forward to today and now it’s dying every time I put it in reverse. Anyone seen this before?

Haven’t heard of that yet. Did you tie into the wiring harness for reverse lights?

Is your display reading correctly. And showing the "R"?
Yes it is, it will sit at idle just fine until I put it in reverse. I’ll try to get a video of it shortly.

Yes I did but I used the harness light kit from Hondasxs

Unplug it and see if any different.
But if this was faulty the display would show "--".
Will do, I have to get back home first lol.

I had the same issue. My reverse light had a ground wire but was also groundable through the body of the light so it was sending a ground signal back to the backup alarm plug. It made the computer freak and kill the motor when put in gear. You can do a connuity test between the ground wire and light body.
