I just got my windshield in today and installed, I have a plan for that....stay tuned should cost about 40 to 50 bucks.

I just pop my bottom 2 clamps off, push the bottom out and tuck the clamp to the inside of the roll cage.

As long as your not driving over huge whoops it doesn't move or seem sketch or anything.

I don't use the plastic fender ties in that bottom clamp to the dash thing anymore for that reason.

I thought about that but am not crazy about it resting on the clamps. What I am planning will look factory and hold it out about 4-5 inches and the clamps won't be resting on the rops.

Supplies are ordered.....when it comes in, she will go under the knife lol. If it works the way I am envisioning, I am going to do a poor mans patent and then I will post up for everyone.
Who knows, maybe Honda will compensate me for my idears :D

Total cost was $31.27

What is a poor man's patent and how can I steal it from you?

Its when you make up your idea/plans/pictures, whatever you think you need to cover that you truly came up with it, then put it all in an envelope and mail it to yourself. The post office stamp makes it an official government document. When you receive it, you don't open it and just hang onto it in case you ever need to prove you came up with it first. :)

So all I have to do is steal it from you and mail it to myself?

Totally unrelated, I was gonna buy you a pizza. They need your address and need to know what time you will be at your house

Ok, so I got this done and it works! Sorta....lol. I bought 25lb struts thinking 50lbs of combined force would be enough.....I was wrong. So, I just ordered 50lb'rs...so now there will be 100lbs of combined force.

Here are the struts that I ordered
Extended 15.55" C1619568 C16-19568 Gas Struts Lift Supports Rods Fits Universal | eBay

Here are the mounts
Black Nitrate Coated Nitro-Prop Gas Strut Shock 10mm Ball Stud SAE 5/16 Thread | eBay
and
10mm Nitro-Prop Gas Spring Strut Angle Ball Stud Bracket Mount Plate Link Rod | eBay

Install looks clean

When testing for shocks use a fish scale or a hanging type scare and pick it up at the point the shocks will be pushing from. Then good rule of thumb add 10-20% depending how much push you want. If you use longer mount on the window then the cage so the shock angles the other way when closed it'll actually keep window shut once it passes straight on the shock

Very nice job! It is very clean looking. Why can't Honda do this OEM? Can you get some pics of it open? Again, very well done skidooby! This should help a lot when cab is hot.

Any new pics of the windshield open??

Hopefully tonight, my dad just came home from open heart surgery on Friday so between being at the hospital every night and tending to everything him and my mom needs I just haven't had time. I have the new struts, I will try and get them on tonight!
