P1000 Now I've Got Trouble - It Fell In The Air Intake

For me it would have to come out.Wrap up a shop rag smaller then the pipe plus the tape put a string on it unhook the other end and try to blow the rag and string thru the pipe use a leaf blower.Then tie another string to the rag add to the rag and start fishing slowy might take two people back and forth.Lets face it .Its on the bottom.Try to go back the way it came good luck.If not let it go.

I opened the air box, took out the filter, and put a leaf blower in the hole.
Note the tape over the air intakes - I learn fast.

I chopped up a rag and used coat thread to snake it through. The leaf blower shot it straight out the front, easier than I thought.

Then tied paracord to the thread, and snaked it through.

The first rag would move the roll of tape, but couldn't get it up the incline to get it out.
So I tied a follower rag right behind it and presto.

There's the POS tape right there. Pulled right out with the second rag.
For those of you with fish in the hole, I'd recommend this. If I'd dropped a bolt or something small, I'd probably leave it and not worry about it. It's not going to get past the air filter, so no harm.
I was worried about the air flow. I'm at 8,000 feet at my cabin and ride over 10,000 feet quite a bit in the high Uinta mountains. I thought the tape was too big of an airflow blocker, so I decided to get it out.

PS: Even though I only have 1,400 miles on the machine, I changed the air filter whilst I had things open. It's a pain in the a$$ to get the cover off. Reminds me of an in-law who bought a Chevy Cavalier Zsomething. They'd shoe horned a v-6 in an engine compartment designed for 4 inline. You had to lift the engine to change the spark plugs. WTF?
