Hello,

New to the group. Looking for input on wheels and tires for our 2018 Honda Pioneer 1000-5, Base model. We mainly do road riding and we are looking for a quieter, smoother ride than what we have. I am a rookie and don't quite understand the wheel sizes, offsets etc. From what I have researched I am looking at getting the following wheels and tires shown in the picture. Will these wheel and tire combination work for my ride? Before I order, I want to be positive that I am ordering the correct combination if wheels and tires. Any input would be appreciated.

Welcome from Mississippi. I bought the 5+2 wheel in a 14 inch and went with 28 inch Bighorn 2.0 tires with 9 inch width in front and 11's in back. Got a 1 inch wheel spacer in the rear to even up the track width. No lift kit, no scrubbing and 3 1/2 years with no problems.

Those are sharp looking! I'm confused though, why would you need a wheel spacer?
Do you have info on what you purchased exactly? I like the looks of your setup.
The 1 inch spacer is to even up the rear track width. Stock wheels have more offset to the outside than the front, if you go to a 5+2 all the way around the rear is narrower. You could put 6+1 on the front and 5+2 on the rear. Thanks for the compliment, my purchasing info is long gone, I bought them before I joined the forum. I do remember buying them from the Monroe,La. area already mounted.

Oh, I see you already said to get 6 + 1 on the front. My bad. Do you think I would have any concerns about clearance or anything?

If you want the rear the same width as the front, yes sir.
Is it recommended to keep the same width all the way around? I am from Wisconsin and would like to keep my machines wheel base as the same as stock to avoid ant issues.

While your shopping add about 5 pounds of air to your current setup. I did that for another reason and noticed the Honda was quieter.

6 + 1 are the factory front off set I believe w/ 9 inch wide tires, which are stock width as well. ????????

Ok. Thanks everyone for the great info. It really helps.
From what I am understanding, to keep my machine stock width I am going to order the following:
Front wheel- 14x7 4/137 bolt pattern with 6 + 1 offset
Rear wheel- 14x7 4/137 bolt pattern with 5 + 2 offset
Front tire - 27x9-14
Rear tire - 27x11-14
This should keep the front and back in line and not extend the wheel base any further from factory specs?
I apologize, but this is confusing to me and before I order and spend the money, I want to be confident I am ordering the correct items.
Thanks for everyone's patience!

If all your running is dirt and paved roads i would look into something like the general grabber atx a light truck tire.
