Non typical wire stripping tool

i use a snap on tool very much like this..it doesn’t remove the piece,,but it spreads the insulation enough that you can solder a wire on.

Bought this off snap on truck 25 years ago best stripper ever,other than the ones at lil darlings

Well, I have already done it the hard/slow way, but would be nice for future needs.

Question ..... I can not tell by the pic, do you know about how far it will spread the insulation? Can you tell if it works the same way as the snap on or have info for the snap on?
