P1000 Newbie question

I just picked up my 1000-5, and preparing the add the second battery, turn signals etc. Under the front hood is a black plastic cylinder, held down by a rubber strap.

What the heck is that? I can't find reference anywhere.

That’s your tool kit.
Put it away with your records and when you sell your Pioneer in twenty years you can use it as a selling point. Original tool kit included.
