No electric start or even compression release I dont think. Love the old TT. Got rid of an xr600 because my knee didn't like starting it.

Correct about the no push button starting for the TT's. However it does have a compression release, which is used to release compression in order to rotate the engine to the correct position for starting, and has a "window" used to see a machined spot on the cam that indicates you are"safe" to attempt kick starting.

Just know that when you do kick it, you had best be serious about it. My neighbor had the first year TT, ('76), and failed to get the position correct, and spent the next several weeks in a cast when his foot/shin/ankle hit the back side of the handlebar).

But once you get to know the quirks, they are a FUN ride... Especially in the dunes.

Bought this TT new from Imperial County Yamaha (Imperial, CA) when I lived in Yuma, AZ. It is indeed a learning curve to start these without getting bit.

All that said, by comparison to more modern bikes, the suspension is ancient history, but it STILL puts a smile on my face...

Beautiful bike for sure. Seems the older I get the more I like the older bikes.

CRF250X with a couple mods that I rode when my boy was learning to ride. He started to outride me. That’s about the time I got a quad.

Wish I still had this 2014 250L, the only fuel injected bike I’ve owned. Had fun accessorizing it. Hand guards with integrated LED turn signals was a good mod.

This was a 2008 Honda ST1300. I bought it in July 2010 with 2,200 miles on the odometer. It was my 68th birthday present to myself after not straddling a motorcycle since summer of 1980. The ST1300 was incredibly fast and a good highway machine but the seating position required the rider to lean forward. No radio, no navigation, no trunk, no backrest. I kept it 6 months. discovered I still loved motorcycle touring, and traded it for a new Goldwing.

This was a 2010 Goldwing XM/Nav model. I bought it in January 2011 from the Honda Powersports dealer in Shawnee, OK. The photos was taken in early 2011 by one of the photo vendors along the Tail of the Dragon. That was the beginning of several years of great riding experiences.

Heading out in the morning for an 9 day ride to the San Bernardino Mtns of So Cal for a couple days, then on to Pismo Beach, CA for 4 more, then back to the San Bernadino's for a few more before turning for home...
