Just drive it as is for now, When things break, then explore upgrading.
These things are TOUGH as is.
Only weakness is the lack of skid plate. That is more important than trailer hitch or windshield.
agree - I made the mistake of not doing suspension as item #1 on the list - the windshields and other stuff are taken care of with helmet/goggles - lived and learned.

What year is your X and is it Live Valve? The first gen X's rode like dump trucks but, at least the '23 LV, rides MUCH better than my '21 R2 non LV. After driving the '23 X LV, I'd be happy with it stock, it's very good. The one I drove was running 32's (to my 30's) and a wider cross section too, so that was some of the improvement.

x - 19 non LV - so a horrible ride and no LV

Plus 2 shocks were dead on gas when I brought it home - took machine back to dealer - he wanted to send shocks out for warranty - I had him fill em back up with nitrogen on the trailer - lol…… no time for bulls*** - then had the caps switched out after the other 2 went dead - garbage

Skid plates are going to be my next order. That and a winch are top of my list right now.
I'm happy with the SuperATV skid plate. Installation was very simple as all the holes matched up perfectly and the quality seems to be really good. I wanted tree kickers so I wasn't concerned with the extra side piece that the Trail Armor has so I decided to do the cheaper SuperATV skid. Otherwise I would have gotten the TA skid plate.

I did the SATV tree kickers. Theyve been solid. One dent and Ive hit things pretty hard

Yes I do not like tree kickers, they actually make the machine wider. The skids will extend up the sides a few inches to help protect the fenders and sides. The plastic will also slide easier on rocks than the steel tubes.

Congrats on the new whip, @MiniRF.

On the TA skids, make sure you order the "standard" version, not the "trimmed" version. The latter does not have the sides that wrap up and around. The "trimmed" version is intended to be used with rock sliders/tree kickers.

As @Neohio said - do NOT worry about trying to add a bunch of crap right away. The only real must haves are the skids and the windshield -- and a winch if you'll be doing a lot of riding alone (or with someone who doesn't have one).

EDIT: Since you went with the SATV full glass windshield, this is another option for a tablet holder. Looks OEM:

I just turned 5,000 miles on mine. I'm careful so my 2019 Talon is still on my original skid plate with over 41,000 miles. The most important thing is the 10/80 snorkel. I just replaced the stock tires with the BF Goodrich UTV 30's.

I'm finally part of the cool kids club and got myself a Talon! I've pretty much blown the wad on the machine itself, so parts additions are going to be slow. I'm also very new to all of this so any guidance/feedback is always appreciated as I start adding parts. I wasn't going to do a thread but thought maybe my novice thread could help other new members. 🤷‍♀️

Congrats with the new purchase, you're going to enjoy it. One of my friends has the identical machine and they love it. Take your time with your accessories. A windshield front and rear probably best purchase this time of the year. I prefer to research differing products from differing manufacturers and google specific branded accessories and watch the video reviews. Many choose the same s*** everyone else purchases. I'm sure there is good value in doing so, but maybe there's something better? Keep in mind every time you add weight to your machine, you're possibly compromising the handling, performance and reliability. I look forward to seeing you on the trail

Yeah but FUTV is priced accordingly, full set no add-ons to buy.

The cost is so stupid on the X4 I decided to skip it this year and make my own out of aluminum plate instead this winter. I have a Trail Armor set on the P1k5, but I’m not in love with it on the x4 at $2300!
