P1000 KFI / Warn / Superwinch?

What's a good place to buy a warn winch for a P1 or are they over priced?

northern tool... any winch will do, even a harbor freight......

Eh I dunno about that. I suppose if you RARELY need a winch you might get by. Like if you only use it a couple times a year.

Still I would at least get a KFI or viper they are a good winch for the money. Hondasxs also sells some really good options at a good price.

northern tool... you are paying a lot for the name... yes they may be a good winch but unless you use it everyday it is not worth it to me... any winch will do, even a harbor freight... warm uses plastic gears in some of there winches...

like he said if you use it couple times a year its fine, winches really take a beating here though, ice and hedge row snow have to double pulley all the time and if you move trees and or plow it gets used all the time, one person I know had the viper go but same deal moving trees getting unstuck from a few feet all time went to warn and no problems. I ve always bought superwinches though the warns are too expensive.i just get the steel was like 240 last nov for terra 45 and 20 for the rope. ive never had a problem with a superwinch and It gets wet all the time, does a bunch of wood and gets me out of the ice

Thanks for all the info. I found the best price on Amazon for a warn vrx 4500 and kfi mount plate. And sent pics to wife for my birthday present.

After looking up some winch installs on here. Wish I had of searched a little harder. Seen alot talking about kfi doesn't pull straight. And EMP and MOOSE plates does. Anyone witnessed this problem with kfi.

I'm not sure. I bought the warn plate, winch, and wireless remote all from the montana guy and he cut me a good deal. Going strong for 8 months.

@Ragnar406 has a bumper mount now.

I have the kfi mount on mine. It does pull a little funny, but has yet to let me down.
I recall reading the EMP is a straight pull, but a nightmare to install.

I have/had the EMP mount - it mounts the winch upside down and does a straight pull. Has U bolts (?) that hook it to the frame. Mount made the winch feel very secure but was a pain in the butt to install - but once installed no issues it was solid.

Purchased this Warn ProVantage 4500 in 2014 and it’s still going strong with only minor maintenance.

If no one has mentioned, I would not run a winch with out a second battery and a battery isolator. just ask if you don't know

just keep your battery charged and it will be okay I've been running 1 battery for 3 years

I have a superwinch terra 45 with kfi mount. Haven't used it so can't say. Hopefully I will keep it that way.

I've got a KFI AS-50 5000Lb synthetic. I have had no issues and it definitely gets the job done.
