I'd still prefer a Passat or Jetta TDI. My wife's BMW X5 SUV awd diesel gets high 30's and it's not too shabby either.

There's definitely other choices for economy, and aesthetics, but the Prius (at 55 mpg) has it on room and comfort, IMO. I realize that other than fuel economy data, this is very subjective.

Oh. I'm breaking it and the tent out in a few days JUST for testing purposes. I also read to bring duct tape and seal the rain fly to the tent when running the air... so I gotta figure that out.
