Awesome site! Loving it. I've searched for DAYS all over and hope you all can help...

Any one using an ITP Delta Steel wheel as either a spare or all around? I'm looking at going 5+2 offset in a 12x7 rim. Any clearance issues with rubbing on calipers, etc? Are these specific rims gonna require me to go 4+3? I'd seen some guys with other brands saying they rubbed with the 5+2 and had to suck it up and re-buy at 4+3.

For reference, this is a guy with a 2015 Viking...

Well I got a 5+2 delta steel wheel last night and tried to install on the front of my 2015 Viking, and as mentioned it will not fit as it hits the caliper. The caliper hits the wheel where the wheel tapers in to where the mounting flange is welded.

Background - 2018 P1000-5 Base with the stock 12" steelies. Gonna be doing more rocky trails and Colorado in the near future and do not trust the stock Blackstone 6 plys so looking at new tires and wheels.

If I stay with 12" wheels, I'd likely go with the Tensor Regulator 28x10x12 or the new Tusk Terrabite Aramid 10 ply 27x10x12 all around. Thus, likely replace the stock rims with matching 10" wide rims.

So I did a little digging and it looks like you’ll have to go 14” for the delta wheels to get the 4x137 bolt pattern with a 4+3 offset. The 12” has 4x137 but the offset won’t fit with your pioneer.

Thanks Russ! Yeah I suspected and hoped someone else had been the guinea pig already. I sure don't want it to be me. :(

Hey Russ,

Just some further clarification from you if I can...

1. Are you saying that it is simply a matter of needing the 4+3 offset regardless of rim size?

2. Or, is it a combination of needing to go to 4+3 PLUS the 14" rim?

I did find ITP has a 12x7 4+3 offset in 4/137 bolt pattern...

https://www.amazon.com/ITP-Delta-Steel-Offset-Pattern/dp/B00230SOB2/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1Q3AFF4YTR1AQ&keywords=itp+delta+12x7+4+3+offset&qid=1579099281&sprefix=itp+delta+12x7,aps,154&sr=8-9
The problem with the 12x7 wheel is it has a 2+5 offset, if it were 5+2 you’d be good to go.

Cool thanks for the help man. Got an email into a vendor to see what their return policy is if I fit it minus tire to check fitment on the 12x7 5+2.

They will fit fine but you’ll need to get wheel spacers to even your track width.

Welp. Don't think I'm going the ITP steel wheel route. Was chasing down what type of bolt holes it has...

They apparently do have FLAT bolt holes and not tapered. Not thrilled about a flat lug nut keeping this wheel centered and tight on such a heavy utv. Then take into account they are 137mm vs speced 136mm. I'd really prefer to have tapered lug keeping those wheels tight to the hub. Much easier for flat lug to work loose and allow the rim to booger the threads. I do a lot of hard pack and pavement to boot...

Oh well.

UPDATE - thought someone else out there will find this useful when they go down this rabbit hole...

Just got off the phone with a great tech at ITP Tires and he did some digging for me:

1. 12x7 Delta steel wheels will NOT clearance the brake calipers due to the shape of the steel wheel. This goes for 5+2 and 4+3 offsets.

2. They only offer a 14x7 in 4+3 offset (4/137 holes) and it WILL fit the P1Ks. He gave me part number 1422319014B.

3. The above 14x7 wheel DOES have tapered lug nut holes in 12mm.

DISCLAIMER - I have not personally/physically verified this information. So double check.

I'm going a different route on wheels as I want 5+2 offset on all corners and spare.

I can confirm the 14” 4+3 offset steel itp wheels with tapered lug holes fit the talon. (I had to grind the front brake calipers a little but worth it for steel wheel reliability)

Awesome data point @Sheetmetalfab . Thanks for adding to the discussion. This is gonna help some one else down the line.

PS - Any pix or estimate of amount ground down and where?
