I love the comfort, handling, travel, speed over the 500. But the quality feel just aint there
I guess you've never owned a Polaris. I had a Maverick and thought it was head and shoulders above anything else I'd driven or ridden in to that point. The only thing I hated was the damn belt burning up if you looked at it wrong without being in Low. Replaced 5 in 2yrs and had enough, bought a YXZ. Wife forced me out of it by wanting a dump bed so now I'm on the prowl for my next "project".

I got used to driving a tank. But I couldn't get past the uncomfortable interior.
I'm being a little harsh on CanAm.
Agree the belts don't hold up as good as I thought. Got stuck in sand in H and the belt starred smoking.

The 2016 Pioneer 1000 set a new standard with 72 hp and a double clutch trans. The Polaris Ranger had 68, now it has 80. I think this 999cc engine with the Unicam top end was developed to also be used in the sport model. The RZR 1000 has 110 hp and the 3 cylinder 900cc non turbo Maverick has 90. Both have a high fun factor with a price of about $18,000. Add another $500 to $1,800 in belt drive maintenance to get to 10,000 miles. My RZR 900 needed an all new belt drive at 9,000 miles. The base Honda sport model should cost about the same as the Pioneer 1000 and the deluxe model a bit more with high end shocks. Honda quality sets a new standard. I have put on over 39,000 miles on Honda side by sides without a tow out failure. The worst problem was a leaking water pump seal on my Pioneer 700 at about 5,000 miles.

Is this an air vent on top ? To keep dust away maybe, or a reflection? Also it looks like it has a cargo net across the back.

big question, where is the air intake? hopefully its in a better spot than the pioneer.
I’ll bet there was a little more time invested on where it takes air in...
Probably still up front with better protection from water, not too far off from the updated P1000 would be my guess.

Holy crap. I haven't been on here in so long... I'm in shock. I started to think it didn't exist. Curious to hear more about the Talon and any other future sxs's coming from Honda.

You guys think those look like pioneer 1000 headlights? They do to me. I hope they are cause I think our headlight shape/styling is awesome.

I sure would like to terrorize some trails in my new Talon. Right now it's just a tease...

I just noticed those shocks look like Walker Evans shocks. I've done a bit of R&D with them on spring rates with my Pioneer so I thought I'd inquire a little. They are WE but I promised not to say anything else. NDA is pretty thorough I guess.

Looking at the crate size I expect this is the 3 link model. The 5 link may be longer and fit this crate. Longer rear suspension and forward a-arms plus a foot wider could make this a full on race ready model with 2 feet or more of wheel travel. It looks like the cage is fully welded and it may have a fuel cell standard. The fuel cell would add safety and the engine could have high HP with a turbo. I expect the twin but it could have a flat 4 with twin turbo's. We will know for sure this year. The factory capacity is 100,000 side by sides a year.
