Ok todays the day I start the portal hub install. Ive had the stuff for a couple of weeks, Ive just been busy. I dont know if I can get it all done today or not. Figured Id take pics along the way. Im gonna install the SuperATV 6" portals, a frame stiffener, some fancy 20" wheels, and MotoHavok 35x8.5x20 tires. The Pioneer already has a bracket lift with spring spacers and forward arched SuperATV a-arms in the front. It has the stock a-arms in the back. I'll get the SuperATV arched arms in the back one of these days. Im sure I'll run into unexpected problems along the way. We went on the final ride last night on 31 MotoHavoks. Heres a few pics of how it sits now so we can do a before and after comparison.

Just opened all the boxes for the first time and I gotta be honest, its a little intimidating looking at all this stuff! I was not prepared for the amount of hardware and stuff that comes with this kit! Everything was well packaged in super padded boxes and bubblewrap everywhere. Extended braided brake lines, new brake rotors, nuts and bolts everywhere. This is probably not getting done today. Im gonna start with jacking the front up and figuring out how to install the frame stiffener first.

Is the celery for Sox??? 😜

Believe it or not Sox doesnt like celery or broccoli. He will eat all around it and I go out and look in his bowl and broccoli and celery will be leftover. I always thought pigs would eat anything. I dipped the celery in ranch dressing though that I was dipping my wings in and Sox ate up all the celery. Spoiled little piggy.

Ok I got the frame stiffener on, but all the bolts are still loose, as per the directions. Youre supposed to plug the a-arms in and then tighten everything. Before I can plug the a-arms in though I have to install the new Keller ball joints, which Im sure is gonna be a p.i.t.a...Gonna take the old knuckles off of the a-arms now and press out the old ball joints and press in the Keller ball joints. I hate messing with ball joints. One of my least favorite things to do. Heres a couple of pics of the frame stiffener.

Got the Keller balljoints pressed in the drivers side front a-arms and bolted in the portal backing plate between the upper and lower ball joints. Plugged the a-arms into the frame tabs and tightened up the hardware on the a-arms but left all the rest of the frame stiffener hardware loose. Now Im gonna jump over to the passenger side front and do the balljoints and stuff and make that side look like the drivers side front. Heres a few pics.

Got the passenger side put together just like the drivers side. Fixin to tighten up the stiffener plate and call it a day! This went way slower than expected. We're riding Harleys tomorrow with some friends so I probably wont get time to mess with it tomorrow. I got Mondays off so I might tinker with it some more then. Yall have a good one! 🍻

You can choose multiple different bolt patterns, and 3 different stud diameters and thread pitch. Normal Honda takes a 12mm stud but Im gonna use the 10mm x 1.25 because the wheels I ordered are for a canned ham and take 10mm studs. The P-1000 and canned ham both take 4/137, but Honda has 12mm studs and Can-Am has 10mm. I thought I would just be able to run up to the auto parts store and pick up fancy lug nuts like I always do when messing with sxs wheels and tires, but I guess this is the only time Ive ever messed with 10mm studs and none of the auto parts stores around here carry 10mm lug nuts. I guess thats small for a car. There is a atv/sxs shop up the road from me that does custom wheels and tires and stuff. Monday when they open I'll run up there and buy some from them. I got some temporary 10mm x 1.25 nuts and washers for today just to get this thing rolling around until I get the lugs

Actually I just realized something. These wheels came with holes big enough for 12mm studs. So Im going to press out the 10mm studs and press in the 12mm studs and then I can re-use the lugnuts from the old wheels. Problem solved. I swear when I ordered the wheels it said they had 10mm holes. Oh well, just means I wasted time this morning trying to hunt down 10mm lug nuts, but it means I save money because now I get to use the old lug nuts.
