Got my "Cabin Comfort Kit 16" p/n 76010-HL4-305 today. My dealer is pretty swamped with work so they let me install it. I preferred that anyway and it allowed me to make a few changes along the way.

Kit

First step in the instructions is to remove the seat cushion, seat back and the panel between the 2. The first bit of labor is replacing the foam under the panel between the cushion and seat back. Mineral spirits took the foam goo off really well and the new foam stuck better than I expected.

I've been pretty happy with my reflective material shield so I decided not to remove it but rather work around it with the new parts. The new honda panel under the middle and right seat is a bit sloppy too. Here's the new part overlayed on my shield. I installed the honda rubber under my shield.

Seat cover in

Next was the seat back panel. I think this really seals the front seat from the engine bay. I expect the heat between the seat cushion and back rest to be gone.

The new parts include a big rubber shield behind the cushion and back rest. For all the bolts through the back panel I added a washer to hold the rubber in place. I also relocated a few holes to make the mounting provisions more symmetrical side to side

A 5/16" hole punch is great for punching holes in the rubber

I added a few push pin holes in the rubber at the bottom to tie the cover into the existing seat belt push pins

Next step was putting the back panel on and that sealed it up. I'm pretty happy. Honda addressed the warmer middle seat and the air flow holes around the seat belts. I expect it will work pretty well but it might push the heat to the back seat or behind the back rest.

I'll try it Monday and report back. 21230800 10100780166322297 8445212932532413780 n 21231866 10100780182724427 2526442895023789218 n

I pick up my 1000-5 next Saturday and I asked the sales guy about this and knew nothing about it. I assured him that it should be done before pick up

It's a product improvement kit. The part number in my post above should help him locate it but parts availability is limited. Good luck.

90 mile trail ride review: thanks Honda. I really like the fix around the seat belts. My 3year, my brother and myself rode today and this fix works. No more hot air coming up the seat belt slots. I'm happy.

Im glad to hear this works. The one ive done so far hasnt been picked up yet. Ive got 4 more to do. Their making us have the unit in the store before we can order. Which, if your like us we have the customer just give us the mileage (honda request it) and then just have them drop it off. Dont let your dealer bullcrap you either, anybody familiar with P1K can do this in under 45 minutes on a '16, '17 should be less since theres no drilling holes in the frame for the rubber mat, we're payed .8 a hour.

Hopefully this fixes alot of your guys problems and concerns anybody wanting to get a P1K and hasnt yet.

Seems to be some delays on this in Canada . Talked to my dealer and he had not heard about this yet. Gave him the info from this site and he said he will look into it. Anybody else getting answers Canada.

No problem. Turns out that Honda is pretty adamant that their dealers install this part. I think there is still a chance others will want to modify it later
