My daughter and MIL really c/o the heat from I between the seats in the rear this past weekend. I have a full shield, like Jackal, under the front seat. Stopped the steam, but shifted the heat and steam out the latch hole between the seats.

Any thoughts on how to fix this? The problem I see is the bed latches underneath and the seat latches above. Just doesn't seem to be anywhere to shield without leaving a big hole.

I will put a fan on at some point, but would like some shielding as well

Here's what I came up with. Wife is going to sew heat shielding between this folded rug. We'll then put it over the latch hole and center support.

My single 4" fan completely stopped the heat rising up between the seat and bed. You will be happy after you install the fan.

I noticed that because I usually rest my arm over the back of the seat and immediately noticed that when the fan is running, no heat. If I turn off the fan, the heat rises up.

I guess the fan is strong enough to blow the heat out the back vs the heat rising.

Thanks for that info Joe. Just ordered my fan, wire, snorkel supplies, but forgot switch. I might just get a 12 volt plug in until I get the rest of lights and switch panel.

The fan is the way to go, it blows the heat back and away instead of radiating straight up to the passengers front or back seat.

Will still install the fan before next summer but we did find one quick fix that helps.
We took a length of 2 1/2" diameter armaflex (foam tube sold to insulate water pipes) and stuffed it into the space between front seats and the upright panel with the metal bars on top.

After hearing about the Honda Fix for the heat problem and seeing their weatherstrip that went across the back of the seat I considered doing the same thing with a pool float noodle/toy similar to what you used that I had lying around the garage! If I can use something that is lying around the garage to solve a problem it is so much more satisfying!:)
