P1000 Heat problem solved?

I have a three seater. I don't think it has the floor panels does it?

Yes, it is called a mud shield. There are a few reports of removing it cools things down by allowing improved air flow. However that being said, if it is truly a mud shield and if removed mud could build up on that part of the engine in certain conditions making the issue worse or causing adverse heat issues on the engine itself.

That's what I did on my P1-5 really works. Heat still comes up between seat and bed though.

what I used had it on it already it was heat barrier from summit racing SUM-879010 is the part # I used it on the bottom of the seat tooit really helped on the heat

The heat shield that the dealer installed doesn't mount to the bottom of the seat, it sandwiches between the seat and turns up the back of the seat past the plastic.

Thanks, I don't want to remove anything that has a purpose and the heat shield probably does. I just went riding in some mud and water. The heat shield from summit racing worked. It eliminated the heat and made the seat feel cooler. Well worth the $60.

First off Welcome from WV Kmills I used the same heat shield from summit to on seat bottom and the piece between the seat bottom and back worked well for me

After riding for 12 miles on the same trails on the river and going through lots of holes, it's official. My heat problem from under the seat is over. Plus it made it a lot quieter too.

FYI, this is what I used from summit racing. It's enough to do two Honda Pioneer 1000's front seats. I used it on mine and will do a friends in a few days.

Others have tried the exhaust wrap with poor results.
You can buy a whole roll of the silver heat insulation others have used for about $11 at Home Depo. It doesn't have self adhesive but a can of contact cement is about $6. You could probably do about 20 seats with this roll.

This past fall I was hunting with a friend and we were on his Yamaha Viking. I noticed he had no cab heat issues but it was kind of loud. Just recently my brother bought the Polaris General and he too has no cab heat issues. Both machines have something in common. Both motors are completely open. Here's a pic of General:


So I was looking at my Honda and was wondering what if I removed all the plastic covering? Would that let heat escape? Here is pic of my Honda:

this doesent cure it all but it is a cheap and easy fix, enclosed is a picture of two 12 volt vans I purchase from Amazon,variable speed and 20.00 apiece, I fit PIECE OF 3/4 PVC 2 45,S 3/4 AND THEN ATTACHED ONE PVC t ON EACH SIDE CUT IN HALF TO CLAMP OVER MY TOP rail..
