I would agree with that as far as the stress but they do it on the 5. 9 all the time and people run the hell out of them with double in the horsepower that's. Sweet hp one you sons that in the ball park I want to get out of mine is it inline pump

No it’s the ve pump but it moves same volume as the 6bt. No problem there! Mine is the p pump and I’d rather the ve for a daily. Not so much in the bus though

“Claim?” Lol. My 6bt auto truck gets 20 pulling trailer. My kids 4bt is around 28 with the 5speed. Probably close to 24 pulling trailer

Problem with these monitors in general ...they have no way to balance between dirty filter, changing too soon, and the adverse effects of altitude power loss. They are fine at sea level but at 4650' elevation like I am if you wait til they tell you to change your truck has been a dog for a year. Don't ask me how I know.

Here's something I found on the search" I've been told the rule of thumb on inline 71s is 35 HP and 100 FP torque per hole, that would be 140 HP and 400 FP. My book only lists 6-71s and 6V-71s, the 6-71s range from 201/552 to 260/751. I would think the 4-71s would come in several different ratings also. "

@BWAF...you did not cover the difference between turbo's versions and non. All those early Detroits were offered in both versions. As soon as you leave town and go up in the mountains you will not be happy with a non-turbo version. Yes, they still have the blower on them but without the turbo, at altitude, they are quite doggy.

As soon as you leave town and go up in the mountains you will not be happy with a non-turbo version. Yes, they still have the blower on them but without the turbo, at altitude, they are quite doggy.
Sorry if it's diesel then it's got have a turbo on it it's more power and more efficient that's just my opinion and I never thought about the altitude of the mountains I live down here on the flat ground in Missouri .lol

But on the other side my last gas full size was a 1978 Power Wagon with a 440. Ran hard for gas but I could never go back to that s*** mileage, poor life span or massive power loss as a daily driver.

My last gas full size was a Power Wagon with a 440. Ran hardtop gas but I could never go back to that mileage, poor life span or massive power loss as a daily driver.
Even with the farm I don't pull a trailer a whole lot but it's enough that my 6.0 gas in my Chevy I hate the mileage

Fuel injection helped gas some. The old carburetor was just dumping dollar bills a hole. Mechanical works awesome in a diesel but not so much in gas

My ol Dodge got between 9-10. Didn’t seem to matter if pulling a load or coasting it still said feed me lol
