Well that’s good. I was considering the expense to you today reading off your list earlier....

I can’t tell if it’s that loud as my Allis roars pretty good at full throttle. I wear hearing protection when running it.

Its a Wallenstein brand chipper.

Here’s a clip of me (the fat guy) putting in a 2.5” diameter spruce branch into it.

Yeah the self propelled ones have those high rpm motors that are really loud. What rpm is your tractor on?

The chipper is installed with a 540 pto shaft connected directly to the flywheel of the chipper.
What is actually delivered to the chipper by my 1954 Allis WD45 w/o a tach is anyone’s guess. It’s probably a bit over speed like 550 or so rpm.

Well that’s good, I thought you said you were running the tractor at full throttle. 👍

Is that really necessary (or even good for the tractor) seems like half throttle would be sufficient. I have only rented and used one once and believe 1300-1500 is what I had mine set at....🤔

All our farm tractors actually use less fuel running at pto speed for pto equipment vs trying to lugg them at lower rates. Some of our tractors have a two speed pto (I.e 540 with an overdrive) that allows for the engine to run at a lower speed but maintain pto rpm on lighter duty equipment but we rarely use it as it places much higher stress on the tractor driveline which is much more expensive to repair vs 1 or 2 gallons of fuel per hour.

I see, my pto speed range is between half and full throttle, but none of the tractors are vintage either so there’s no doubt system differences. Anyway, cool implement and you can work without spending much money right now...👍

So Home Depot, nearest is 80 miles away, will deliver during this sh#tshow, for less than a buck a mile one way....SOLD. More materials are ordered, may take a few days before they get here but I've got time 🤔

I'll make sure to give the driver a good tip 😊

Waiting on some materials for the LR remodel so today I hooked up a 12v fan & digital temp controller in the enclosed trailer to try and exhaust some hot air in the summer months when it's used for snowmobile storage.

it was -10 , 20 km/h wind and snow flurries so of course i had to do a few laps around the lake to stave off boredom.the wife is in the window giving me the bird because she's working and i'm dicking around outside.now i'm home trying to get feeling back in my feet.rubber boots weren't the best footwear choice, but a couple baileys and coffee should help.
