Good article gnome. Ive been thru Mitchell many times. Cant even imagine what they would do with 100 people let alone 50,000.

What kind of glasses or eye protection are you using to watch the eclipse ?

I'm meeting a bunch of friends from another forum and since I lined up and reserved the campground sites at Deadwood Reservoir, Idaho, someone else ordered glasses for everybody else. I'll look into it though...

The next asteroid encounter will be the closest pass of them all, with asteroid “2012 TC4” coming within 0.15 lunar distances of Earth on October 12th, 2017. That’s a distance of just over 35,000 miles, which is an extremely close pass, but the asteroid is only thought to be 12 to 27 meters in diameter, making the event slightly less worrisome.

I still have this campsite reserved for the Total Lunar Eclipse if anyone wants it for free. It's site number 22 at Bull Trout Lake just outside of Stanley. It is a handicap site and has a spot for a 55 foot vehicle. From Recreation.gov's own laws they had to give it to me because it was the last site available in the campground. I'm staying at deadwood reservoir with a bunch of friends on another forum a few miles away if anybody wants this please let me know otherwise I'm going to cancel it. It's for August 21-22. It is on the he path of the eclipse. @CumminsPusher ? Anyone?

My son and I are sticking around after the Coalmont ride till Monday.
Wife has family in the area so we will crash there.

An estimated 30,000 people on the Carolina beach to view the last totality. It must have been nothing short of spectacular for those viewing it within the 7 miles of totality. Listening to the crowds gathered across the country you'd think you were hearing people achieve nirvana!! Amazing!!! Viewed it at 87% with my welding shield, which seemed barely adequate lol.
