P1000 Dome Light Idea

I was thinking about installing a Dome light in my 1000/5 when I noticed the two round holes in the cage by the center hoop. I thought about the rubber mounted trailer lights and I found clear ones on Amazon. its a pain to cut out the metal to get it the right size but I did one tonight. Here are a couple of pics.

I used 2 battery powered lights that I Velcro'd to the hard roof of my P1000-5, touch on touch off. $9.95 at Wally World.

These lights are a little more expensive KC Lights but they do a good job and while they are a little bigger than the hole they do allow a bolt through the middle that you can rig up to hold them in the spot. They also fit good on the Bolts for the Honda Factory roof.

You can buy in different colors and they also sell roll bar strap kits. I currently have two on my mid ROPS in red for night riding ambience

Those are cool as well. the ones I bought come in amber and red as they are trailer lights.

These lights are a little more expensive KC Lights but they do a good job and while they are a little bigger than the hole they do allow a bolt through the middle that you can rig up to hold them in the spot. They also fit good on the Bolts for the Honda Factory roof.

They also sell a kit that will allow you to Velcro them to ROPs - which is all I did. Everything I have is wired through a switch.

I used a white set of these. I wired them to the
test battery that came in the package until I
could finish my PDM & switch panel install.
They are very bright.

Here is what I used. I mounted them on the angle bracket that holds the oem roof. 2 forward and to facing back. And 2 more under the dash.

I also used them as rock lights underneath. Very easy to install. Basically put them anywhere you want.
