P1000 Dome Light Idea

I was thinking about installing a Dome light in my 1000/5 when I noticed the two round holes in the cage by the center hoop. I thought about the rubber mounted trailer lights and I found clear ones on Amazon. its a pain to cut out the metal to get it the right size but I did one tonight. Here are a couple of pics.

That is pretty sharp and a good use of space - how much bigger did you need to cut the hole.

i think the hole is about 1.75 and needs to be 2.25. i hoped I could stack two holesaws but they were the same depth so I had to use my airsaw.

Yes it is a pain to cut but to me it is worth it for rubber mounted waterproof Dome lights. I think I might do more under the dash.

Thanks but I have only seen this type really small and bigger. It would be awesome if we could find one that poped right in.

the hole in the 1000/5 cage is 1.75 so it would need a 1.5 inch white rubber mounted light.

Your hole is waaaay bigger than that!

My existing hole was 1.75 I had to cut it to 2.25 for the 2 inch rubber mounted light to fit. Hint you have to put the rubber grommet in first then push the light into it.

I always put the rubber on before shoving it in the hole... But I wouldn’t bother with rubber these days.
